Hey! I'm Jake. I'm a Stanford alum who studied Human Biology (concentration in Psychology) and Theater in college. I have experience as a professional tutor for all sections of the SAT/ACT and have worked as a college applications essay writing consultant. Additionally, I have experience tutoring English as a Second Language (ESL) and several other high-school-level courses including Spanish and the sciences. I conduct my lessons with a through, empathetic teaching style because I know this stuff can be really tough. I have found that prompting my students with guiding questions helps them learn how to really apply the concepts we cover to their future work. I'm proud to say that the teaching I’ve strategies I’ve developed over my years of tutoring have helped my SAT/ACT students improve their scores by 30%, on average — some of them improved by nearly 50%!
