Hello! My name is Jasmine and I am working on a Bachelor of Arts in psychology, along with a minor in education. I work with children on a daily basis, and am an aspiring elementary school teacher. I have been working at the Boys and Girls Club teaching swim lessons since March 2017. I have also worked as an after school tutor at the Ivy Garden Learning Center in Bridgeport, where I gained experience working with children who have ADD/ADHD and conduct disorder. Through student teaching in a special education classroom, I have taught lessons to children with autism spectrum disorders. I understand that not every student is the same, and each come with their own learning styles and abilities. When it comes to tutoring, I believe it's important to communicate with not only the student but the parent to find the best and most effective teaching strategies for their child. I take every tutoring session I do as a learning experience for myself on how I can inspire children to be confident and well-rounded not just in academics, but in life. I genuinely love learning, and my goal is to instill the same love for knowledge in every student I teach. <3
